Schiaparelli kicked off Paris Haute Couture Week, reflecting the success of the Tod's Group, which generated €1.007 billion in 2022. Another brand within the group, Roger Vivier, also presented an exclusive collection.
The dazzling Paris Haute Couture Week, organized by the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion, the highest authority in French fashion, began with a bang. Schiaparelli, under the creative direction of the talented Daniel Roseberry, opened the shows on Monday morning at the Petit Palais. It was a colorful celebration of the brand's surreal inspirations, featuring celebrities like Cardi B and Chiara Ferragni on the catwalk.
This show was also an opportunity to acknowledge the work of Diego Della Valle, the owner of the Tod's Group, who has revitalized Schiaparelli since acquiring it in 2012. Through a massive social media communication strategy and a sculptural clothing line that embraces the human body's forms, the brand has regained recognition. The house received further acclaim with the opening of a boutique at the renowned Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York two years ago. Since then, success has followed, and the label's runway shows have become a major highlight of Paris Haute Couture Week.
Under Della Valle's leadership, the Tod's Group continued to thrive in 2022. Last year, the luxury group generated revenues exceeding €1 billion (€1.007 billion), a 13.9% increase compared to the previous year (€883.8 million). The 2022 figures surpassed analysts' expectations by 2.2% and stabilized at a 10% increase compared to the amounts achieved in 2019, the pre-pandemic benchmark year.
This growth has naturally benefited Schiaparelli, as well as another French icon within the Tod's Group, Roger Vivier, a globally recognized footwear brand. Despite the challenges faced in the Chinese market due to COVID-19 restrictions, Roger Vivier achieved €246 million in revenue in 2022, showing a positive growth of 7.1%.
During Haute Couture Week, Roger Vivier presented the new exclusive handbag collection, designed by Gherardo Felloni, called Viv' Choc Pièce Unique. This collection features unique models resulting from collaborations with highly skilled artisans such as feather workers, embroiderers, stone cutters, and crystal artisans from France and Italy. The centerpiece is the Caterina de Medici model, which is priced around €55,000. Ultimately, the Tod's Group has become an indispensable player in the selective world of haute couture.
