Jimmy Choo Eyewear has joined forces with EssilorLuxottica for the production of its glasses. The agreement strengthens the Franco-Italian optical giant, whose revenue reached 24.5 billion euros in 2022.

For EssilorLuxottica, 2022 was a record year with sales of 24.5 billion euros, an increase of 13.9% on the previous year, and Jimmy Choo achieved sales of 613 million euros in 2022 (Jimmy Choo)

Jimmy Choo Eyewear recently announced a partnership with EssilorLuxottica, replacing its former partner Safilo. Following these agreements, the design, production processes, and distribution of Jimmy Choo's glasses and accessories, now a member of Capri Holdings, will be overseen by EssilorLuxottica. The licensing agreement between the two companies will take effect in January 2024 for a duration of five years, with an automatic renewal option for an additional five years.

EssilorLuxottica is no stranger to partnerships in the world of high fashion. The group already has collaborations with Versace and Michael Kors, which are also brands under Capri Holdings. The addition of Jimmy Choo to its portfolio further strengthens its positioning. According to an analysis by Italian investment bank Équita, this agreement will have a very positive impact on EssilorLuxottica in the luxury industry and will facilitate similar initiatives with other prestigious brands. The first collection under this new direction, led by Sandra Choi, will be presented in the first quarter of 2024.

For Francesco Milleri, CEO of EssilorLuxottica, Jimmy Choo is a "true pioneer in luxury and dressing celebrities." Hannah Colman, CEO of Jimmy Choo, sees this partnership as an alliance of "respective expertise in accessories and eyewear to express the very essence of Jimmy Choo's glamorous and bold aesthetic." The brand, famous for its shoes, achieved a revenue of 613 million euros in 2022 and was acquired by Capri Holdings in 2017 for $1.35 billion.

For EssilorLuxottica, 2022 was a record-breaking year with a revenue of 24.5 billion euros, representing a 13.9% increase compared to the previous year. With 200,000 employees, the Franco-Italian group made numerous investments in 2022, including major acquisitions like Walman in the United States and Shamir in Israel and continued marketing strategies to promote access to quality lenses and frames.
