After six years at the helm of the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand, Catherine Rénier has been appointed CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, as of September 1.

Catherine Rénier, current CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre, has been appointed CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels from 1 September. She knows the brand well, having worked there for 15 years (DR)

Following the appointment of Nicolas Bos, who has long been involved in the creation and general management of the Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery brand, and who is now CEO of the Richemont Group, Catherine Rénier's appointment as his successor is not unrelated to her many years with the brand.

Johann Rupert has chosen continuity in appointing Catherine Rénier as head of Van Cleef & Arpels. For many years, she worked alongside Nicolas Bos during her various stints with the brand. Having joined the group in 1999 as Director of Retail Development for Cartier North America in New York, she then moved to the Van Cleef & Arpels headquarters in Paris in 2003 as Deputy Marketing Director, where she contributed to the development of the House. In this role, she was deputy to Nicolas Bos, who was head of international marketing at the time. In 2008, she continued her career in Hong Kong, first as Commercial Director, then as Managing Director for Hong Kong and Macau SAR, China in 2011 and finally as President for Asia-Pacific, a position she held for 8 years. In 2018, she was appointed CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Nicolas Bos comments: "Catherine brings to this position the perfect combination of experience and leadership skills which, combined with her in-depth knowledge of the House, will enable her to ensure the long-term success of Van Cleef & Arpels."

Catherine Rénier has over 20 years' experience in luxury jewellery and watchmaking at Richemont.
