The travel company recorded a revenue increase of +2% in 2022 and the first months of 2023 show a strong purchasing growth of +24%.
In 2022, the financial results of Voyageurs du Monde, the specialist in personalized luxury travel, show revenues of 497.3 million euros, an increase of +2% compared to 2019, the reference year for accounting real progress in the financial performance of groups.
The net results of Voyageurs du Monde, which includes other famous brands such as Comptoir des Voyages or Terres d'Aventure, amounted to 29.9 million euros, an increase of +47% compared to 2019 (20.7 million euros), enough to make up for the losses of 2021, the "black year" of tourism, which saw the sector paralyzed by the effects of the sanitary crisis.
This year, the forecasts are optimistic. The press release announcing the encouraging figures for 2022 states that the international market has become an important part of the results, and now accounts for 32% of total sales in the travel sector. The group's cash position currently stands at 279.3 million euros, which corresponds to a positive jump of 20% compared to the end of 2021.
Regarding the outlook for the coming months, the group reports that at the beginning of April 2023, the number of purchased travel trips showed a clear increase of +24% compared to 2019.
Voyageurs du Monde defines itself as an ethical company and follows a consistent approach with its principles: according to the same press release, more than 18% of the wealth generated -which corresponds to an amount of approximately 12 million euros- has been distributed in the form of bonuses, premiums or equity compensation. As for its environmental policy, the company is continuing its efforts to limit the carbon footprint of its travels - today there is a 30% reduction in emissions compared to 2019 - and is launching new reforestation projects around the world.
Despite inflation and the unpredictability of geopolitics, the company manages to continue its successful path, integrating new acquisitions such as Eurofun, the European leader in bicycle vacations (80 million dollars in sales in 2019) and Extraordinary Journey, an American company specialized in customized travel (13 million dollars in sales in 2019).
