Preserving nature

Japan will drastically reduce the use of plastics by imposing a limit on the supply of 12 disposable items such as spoons and straws from April 2022, in order to promote recycling and fight marine pollution. The measure is backed up by legislation passed in June 2021 to reduce plastic waste, particularly in restaurants and retail outlets.
