Biel-based watchmaker OMEGA is preparing to return to space, after being the first to fly close to the Moon. By teaming up with the start-up ClearSpace, the brand is preparing to write a new chapter in the sky. The mission intends to carry out the first capture, the first deorbiting, and then the controlled entry into the atmosphere of an errant satellite element. Indeed, most of the satellites orbiting the Earth have not fulfilled their function, and have dispersed to become debris. This collaboration is a no-brainer for the brand, whose commitment and heritage are intimately linked to space exploration and the conservation of our planet.
