Depot Boijmans. Free art
At the end of 2021, after 10 years of construction, the Boijmans Van Beuningen Depot was inaugurated in Rotterdam’s Museum Park. This new cultural space, designed by the MVRDV architectural firm, takes the shape of a gigantic cup covered with mirrors reflecting the park. It is the world’s first art depot to be fully accessible to the public, with a collection of over 151,000 objects from the Middle Ages to the present day.
