A hymn to beauty
Palazzo Grimani is an architectural rarity in the heart of Venice. Built in the 16th century by Giovanni Grimani, the precious residence was frequented by scientists, intellectuals, artists, royalty and other personalities visiting Venice at the time. Giovanni, a great collector of ancient art, had the rooms of the palace fitted out and decorated in order to offer his collection a real showcase. The tribune is the most remarkable room, intended at the time to house 130 antique statues from the Grimani collection. Today, the palace continues this tradition by exhibiting contemporary art, including the current Georg Baselitz exhibition “Archinto” until 27 November 2022.
