Leading its readers on another journey to news: that’s the ambition of the new podcast series launched by Luxury Tribune. Entitled “Reloading Luxury”, episodes are designed as immersive news stories to explore the reality of those who shape luxury.
Stepping into the headquarters of a company or walking through the doors of a technical office deemed secret are immersions often impossible to film. However, sound enables much more freedom and encounters. Opening the floor to luxury players used to remaining in the shadows or developing a long-term interview with great luxury leaders is the ambition of the new podcast series Reloading Luxury launched by Luxury Tribune.

For this first sound record encompassing three news stories, Luxury Tribune met with atypical and brilliant personalities who shape the daily life and success of the Audemars Piguet brand today. Men and women in key roles who have never or very scarcely spoken to media. As François-Henry Bennahmias, CEO at the head of the brand for the past ten years was announced to leave several months ago, Luxury Tribune wanted to observe this transition under the angle of leadership, and understand the functioning, success catalysts and transmission mechanisms of Audemars Piguet. In over ten years, the brand has reached unprecedented levels of desirability and its turnover has quadrupled. What will remain of those years of growth?
That’s what Luxury Tribune wanted to understand, by meeting with the close guard of François-Henry Bennahmias called “Padawans”, as well as by opening the floor to the industrial development and design masters at Audemars Piguet and eventually, by questioning François-Henry Bennahmias’ perspective on the future, after ten years at the head of the brand, in an exclusive interview.

Why the fierce 90s style remains fascinating
The fascination for the 80s-90s, this intense need to be provocative, to see big, go fast and strong, now mirrors the urgency of our decade. Everywhere, codes of the 21st Century take their inspiration from that freedom in art, fashion, and watchmaking. An icon of those years, the Royal Oak Offshore is now celebrating 30 years of unconventionality.
Record auction for The Royal Oak 50th
Last weekend, Geneva hosted the most eagerly awaited auctions of the year, including The Royal Oak 50th organised by Philips, in association with Bacs & Russo. Sales of Audemars Piguet’s historic models more than tripled estimates.
