In partnership with Klarna, the young fashion designer launched an international competition that will showcase new emerging talent in the field of inclusive and eco-friendly fashion.
The pieces must be made from recycled and environmentally friendly materials. Participants should also represent iconoclastic fashion that breaks away from gender codes. Harris Reed will chair the jury. Those who are lucky enough to represent Reed's "fluid world" in the most creative way will then have the opportunity to receive an exclusive mentoring session with the designer: Harris Reed and his team will give the winner expert advice on how to break into the fashion industry, how to improve the style of their proposed collection, and how to realise the potential of their ideas and designs.
The young prodigy, adulated by the world's media, was one of the first designers to understand the importance of clothing in the ongoing social revolution, and in the emerging movements fighting against gender stereotypes and codification of styles.
A graduate of London's prestigious Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design, Harris is the son of renowned film producer Nicholas Reed. He made an immediate impact in the fashion world by capturing the attention of Harry Styles and Ezra Miller. In 2019, his charisma and androgynous looks won over Alessandro Michele, creative director of Gucci. Michele entrusted him with the control of the brand's Instagram page during the presentation of the fashion show in Arles, in the exceptional setting of the Alyscamps. On the same occasion, Reed walked the catwalk wrapped in a spectacular kimono, watched by François Henri Pinault and his wife Salma Hayek.
Inspired by androgynous icons such as David Bowie and Iman, Reed has designed a sumptuous gown for her for the Met Gala in 2021 - New York's premier fashion event - with the support of the Dolce&Gabbana studios.
Now "canonised" by the inclusive fashion world, Harris Reed wants to accompany other new talents in this promising path.
