Chanel, The Most Valuable Luxury Brand According To Brand Finance 2025

Each year, the Brand Finance Global 500 ranking assesses the value and strength of the most powerful brands in international markets.
According to United Nations forecasts, global economic growth is set to stagnate at 2.8% in 2025. On the other hand, the world's 500 most valuable brands are on a roll.
If we look at their total value, we see an increase of 10% from one year to the next. While in 2024, the total value of the 500 market giants was estimated at 8,600 billion dollars, Brand Finance's analysis today confirms the figure of 9,500 billion dollars.
According to Brand Finance, 2025 will be marked by Chanel and its estimated valuation of 38 billion dollars in the luxury sector, positioned at the very top of the pyramid. The brand is ahead of Louis Vuitton, in 46th place, all sectors combined, up on last year (24 billion euros).
This increase can be explained by several flagship initiatives that boosted its visibility and brand awareness, including the 100th anniversary of the legendary Chanel N.5 fragrance, the opening of the New York jewelry boutique on 5th Avenue, and the appointment of new artistic director Matthieu Blazy.
On the other hand, Louis Vuitton has slipped to 55th place in the rankings, with a valuation of 33 billion dollars, and has lost its dominant position that the brand had held for three years in a row. Vuitton suffered a decline in sales in 2024, particularly in the leather goods sector, from which it derives around 75% of its revenue.
With a solid valuation of 20 billion dollars, Hermès is in 98th place, while Dior is in 121st place, but its ‘Brand Strength’ score of 93.5 out of 100 puts it in 7th place among the world's strongest brands.
Car manufacturers are weaker overall, affected by the ups and downs of the market and the diffuse supply difficulties caused by geopolitical upheavals and protectionist measures implemented by various state authorities. Tesla falls to 36th place. Mercedes-Benz falls to 23rd place and BMW stagnates at 37th.
On the other hand, the tech giants are clearly at the top of the Brand Finance ranking: in order, we find Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, with valuations of between 350 and over 570 billion dollars. Favoured by the new Trump administration, their power is not about to fade.
