Chanel presents a mini-documentary with Angèle

Since Angèle became an international star and teen idol, Chanel has been signing her stage outfits. Indeed, the ties between the Belgian singer and the legendary French fashion house are so close that Chanel has decided to honour this friendship by recounting the origins of this privileged relationship in a mini-documentary that has just been presented.

Virginie Viard, Chanel's stylist, designed several stage costumes for the singer's "Nonante-Cinq Tour". The twelve models were inspired by the Prêt-à-Porter Spring-Summer 1995 collection, the designer's choice evoking the year of Angèle's birth, as well as the name of her latest album and the tour. On stage at the We Love Green festival in Paris in June, the artist opened the show and delighted the crowd with a pink mini-sleeve and skater skirt from the Rue Cambon house.

Since 2020, the singer has officially become an ambassador for the brand. In 2021, Angèle wrote a playlist especially for Chanel and to accompany the presentation of the Coco Beach summer collection: the 39 tracks were inspired by the work of French and international artists; among them, Vanessa Paradis, already an ambassador of the brand. 

Today, the mini-documentary celebrates this union thanks to the talent of director Loïc Prigent, a documentarian specialising in the world of fashion and already the author of a five-part documentary on the label, entitled Signé Chanel and distributed in 2005 by the television channel Arte. Prigent's new ten-minute video retraces the creative process that led to the creation of the models worn on stage by Angèle: inspirations, fittings, presentation on stage.

The collaboration between the brand and the singer has not finished dazzling fans: Angèle is also part of the Chanel Summer Tour, the promotional tour organised by the brand in several places in France and Europe this summer. Caroline de Maigret invited model Blesnya Minher and Angèle to the first stop of the tour in Saint Tropez.

Teenage idol, Angèle is very committed to the fight against sexism. In 2021, the Netflix platform released a documentary on her life, her talent, her commitments and her meteoric rise in the star system. Her success has now spread beyond the borders of the French-speaking world, thanks in part to her duet with singer Dua Lipa.
