The Italian fashion house Brunello Cucinelli has released its 2022 figures and the year was particularly good, with a 29% increase in turnover to 919.48 million euros.
The year 2022 was exceptionally positive for the Italian group, with a very balanced increase in sales across the globe. There was strong growth in the American market, which recorded a 40.5% increase in sales, followed by Asia with a 28.1% increase and Europe with a 20.8% increase. The year was also marked by important developments within the company. In particular, the company acquired a 43% stake in the woolen mill Cariaggi Cashmere (for 15.05 million euros), its main supplier for knitwear production. The business, founded in 1958 by the Cariaggi family, is still run by members of the same family, who still own 57% of the factory. By 2021, the company had recorded a turnover of 113 million euros.
Philanthropic and always committed to the work ethic, to valuing the know-how of craftsmen and to respecting the environment, Cucinelli has for years been a reference and an example to follow for the Italian industrial world. The quality of its excellent productions and fabrics is increasingly appreciated beyond Europe. The order book for the Spring Summer 2023 collections is already almost full and Brunello Cucinelli is forecasting an increase in sales of around +12% for this year, which would allow him to reach the target of a turnover of one billion euros. The founder even announced that the turnover in 2024 is likely to double compared to 2019.
In September 2021, Brunello Cucinelli received the "Designer of the Year" award from GQ magazine in London. Cucinelli then received the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award for Distinguished Service in the 2022, which will be presented to the entrepreneur at Paris Fashion Week in March.
These prestigious awards have helped the brand boost its image and gain significant visibility around the globe.
